Client info

The Leprosy Mission, England & Wales is a Christian international NGO. They are the largest and oldest player in the fight against leprosy and are working towards the goal of zero leprosy transmission by 2035. Their vision is 'leprosy defeated, lives transformed'.

the challenge

The existing magazine and prayer diary felt disconnected from the vision of The Leprosy Mission and the audience it felt it needed to connect with. Connecting with a younger and more diverse audience was required whilst retaining the connection with the current audience. The team at the Leprosy Mission were keen to showcase and highlight the photography from across their projects, an important aspect that needed to be at the heart of the magazine when reflecting the people who’s lives had been affected by Leprosy and transformed by the work of The Leprosy Mission.

01
the process

Working with the team Supporter Relations team we began by building out and expanding upon their existing personas within the framework of the magazine. We were able to refine this audiences goals for ‘New Day’ in line with the core values of the magazine. This led into creating design stylescapes, mockups and subsequently implementing a new look and feel for the magazine going forward.

the results

Since it’s bold new visual identity the New Day magazine, along with the refreshed prayer diary, has been well received by both existing audiences and new supporters to TLM. Over time the look and feel has been allowed to mature and develop with the iterative brand development that The Leprosy Mission has undertaken. With a fresh impactful design and rich photography that captures the lives of those affected by leprosy and the amazing life transforming work that The Leprosy Mission does, ‘New Day’ has been and continues to be at the fore front of celebrating these stories of hope.
